SRCM and Sahaj Marg

Shri Ram Chandra Mission (SRCM) is a non-profit spiritual organization founded in the year 1945 to help all human beings attain inner spiritual balance through the practice of Sahaj Marg – a system of Raja Yoga meditation. This practice is open to all individuals irrespective of their caste, creed, religion, sex etc, and depends only on their willingness to try the method.

Sahaj Marg promotes a healthy, balanced existence and does not require members to give up or sacrifice any of their individual liberties, nor indeed to alter their lifestyle in any unnatural manner.  SRCM has always maintained an open and transparent culture, where persons are free to join and leave without any barrier.

The Mission funds its operations out of voluntary donations and does not solicit contributions from members. These donations are used in a variety of ways for the members’ benefit, such as construction of meeting places, publication of books and periodicals, and facilitation of training seminars.  The Mission has also contributed to the global community during times of need, for example during the earthquake in India, and during Hurricane Katrina in the USA.

Most people learn about Sahaj Marg and Shri Ram Chandra Mission through word of mouth from existing members who have tried the method, and benefited from it.   The Mission does not advertise or proselytize in any way, as the spiritual journey must be undertaken by each individual in a personal, willful and open-hearted manner.  In this spirit, the Mission has been established in more than 90 countries around the world, with its membership exceeding 200,000. The Mission is also currently working in the fields of education in India, and is a registered NGO working with the UN on matters of social and spiritual relevance.

The teachers of Sahaj Marg, the method taught by the Mission, have all been householders and professionals in their lives, and have devoted their lives to the work of assisting their fellow human beings in achieving this inner balance in their lives. In return, they expect nothing, since they do this work out of their love for their teachers, and love for their fellow sufferers in this human existence.

While there may be those who have experiences or feelings that are not in consonance with the above, the organization is and will always remain true to its core beliefs, and completely transparent in its functioning.

We would hope that earnest spiritual seekers focus their attention on the purity of the practice and the core teachings of the Masters (spiritual guides) of Sahaj Marg, rather than being influenced by reports of individuals who may be at various stages of their own development.  Those who have genuine questions about the Mission or the practice of Sahaj Marg may refer to our official websites (www.srcm.org and www.sahajmarg.org) or contact us through any of our official channels listed at these sites.
